FINGERWEAVING Finger woven items The items I make are done using 2 ply wool yarn. The majority of the weaving I do is done using the "oblique" weave. This weave is found on the majority of the items with a solid 18th century providence. As a result it is the style of weave that I recommend for folks that reenact the mid to late 18th century.
For Garters I use a standard pricing as these are simple to make and to be honest I sell a lot of these. The garters are made with a 10-12 inch long center section that is 2 ½-3 inches wide with 10-12 inches of fringe on each side. For a plain pair a solid color or with a colored selvage edge I ask $60 for a simple beaded pair I ask $70. For more elaborate beaded garters contact me for a quote.
Sashes are an essential part of kits for those portraying canadiens, natives or backcountry riflemen. I also offer a standard price plan for sashes. A Plain single color /selvedge edge sash that runs 40 inches long 3-4 inches wide with 15 inches of fringe on each side costs $175. For beaded sashes or longer sashes contact me for a quote.
One type of woven Goods that I've begun to offer are the "resist" or "discharged" dyed pieces. By experimenting with Natural dyes and examining original items I feel that I have found the secret to this process. As a result I'm happy to offer pieces such as bags, garters or sashes done with this process at a reasonable price.
